Through the review of a case study, this presentation will focus on how to prevent the misdiagnosis of anxiety and best support clients to have a more fulfilling recovery by treating the anxiety disorders that most commonly underlie eating and substance use disorders. We will discuss the co-occurrence of substance/eating disorders and mood and anxiety disorders and how they present themselves, along with effective tools to assess, intervene, and treat.
